“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” (Animal Farm, Orwell). Now mainly conducted through our work at the IUCN Spider & Scorpion Specialist Group, this project intends to create objective and easy ways of identifying species in higher need for conservation independent of taxon identity and, in the process, maximize their chances for survival. Among others, we have published an R package and a species conservation profile that together facilitate and partly automate the complex redlisting process.
